Long Weekend Destination

Many people are thinking on how to spend the long weekend, yet, to be safe that none of our plans will be screwed, we opt to go on these 3-Part Destinations. These fun-filled events took place one fine sunny slash rainy day.

Destination 1 : Water Massage @ Ace Water Spa

Ace Water Spa Ambiance

Okay, a whole blog post might be necessary to share Ace Water Spa in detail, but allow me to give you a sneak peek on what awaits you on this water-filled paradise. The Basics:

Hydrotherapy massage - is a kind of therapeutic massage that utilizes “Ultrasonic Jet System” that massages specific areas of the body with its aquatic jets strategically located to relax and soothe tired and aching muscles. This treatment is best done in heated water.
Location : Ace Water Spa 399 Del Monte Avenue (near cor. Banaue St.) SFDM, Quezon City
Site : http://www.acewaterspa.com.ph/

We're lucky to avail their Rainy Season Promo which includes a Buy-2-Take-1 gimmick. Yey. Regular Entrance Fee for Adults is Php550.00 -- good for 4-hours use of their 25 massage systems, sauna, lazy river, steam, and clean shower / changing rooms. ;)

Destination 2 : Food Trip @ Pares Mami House
 Pares MAMI House (LaLoma)

After 4 hours of relaxing and quasi-exercising, we are starving! Was about to go to a fastfood drive-thru when my Tita came up with a tummy-friendly idea. All aboard to Pares Mami House!
If you're looking for a fine-dining resto, this may not serve you well. Found within the heart of Quezon City, the place looks more of a house turned into Carinderia. They serve the best Pares (though admittedly I'm not a fan of these beef goodies).
Overall, the prices are very affordable, the customer service was fast and accurate, their menu - beyond diverse. You have all the reasons to go and check it out if you happen to be within La Loma , QC.

Destination 3 : Family Time is Ice Cream Time
Jay and Dad wants to be off-cam by request :p

On the way home, was literally begging Daddy NOT to buy Hershey's ice cream because my will power was not at its strongest that time. But then, he won. After he opened Selecta Hershey's Ice Cream, all I know was that I'm getting a mini-bowl and spoon. Hayyyy! I think I need to schedule my yoga session asap! :) -CMK.

Overall, that was such a relaxing day. I am grateful to God because He has given me lots of relatives to share these treasured moments. Finally to top off / 'justify' these splurges, here's an adage from no less than a Philosoper himself, Leonardo da Vinci:

“Every now and then go away, have a little relaxation, for when you come back to your work your judgment will be surer."

Cars 2 Movie is the Cutest!

Best Friends Forever!
Star race car Lightning McQueen and his pal Mater head overseas to compete in the World Grand Prix race. But the road to the championship becomes rocky as Mater gets caught up in an intriguing adventure of his own: international espionage.

Here are some of my anything-goes give-away from McQueen, Mater and the whole gang:

1." A wise man hears one word and understands two." - Said the Old Italian Truck

2. Mater in his hometown is the same Mater as he is around the world.

3. You don't change your best friend. If the world hates them, prove to your friend that you love them just the same.

4. The world in cars was overly different and was a breather from all ordinary films.

5. Mater and McQueen explored Japan, Italy and United Kingdom! Brace yourself to see Her Majesty, The Queen in car-figure.

6. If you have friends, laughter and crazy experiences - it's gonna be alright! (Mater thought Wasabi was a pistachio flavored ice cream :p)

7. It's okay for best friends to fight - but don't forget to hug each other after.

8. Movie has an amazing twist.

9. Mater is the Bomb! - Once you saw the movie, you'll flash a big smile when you read these 4-words.

10. If you're still contemplating if this is a must-see movie, indulge yourself with this teaser. -CMK.

Exploring Mall Of Asia

1. Lucky to see one of Lego's Exhibit. I vividly recall that we exerted an effort to go to 2nd floor just to see the whole lego masterpiece. It's a Philippine Map with Chocolate Hills, MOA, Banaue Rice Terraces in Lego pieces. Cool!

2. It's Tita's Birthday! She chose a saddle-back brown shoulder bag from Girbaud. It's perfect to pair with jeans or dress. With her on-the-go type of work, it's a must-have no doubt.

Shopping!
***
3. Having a hearty talk while waiting in Krispy Kreme's Queue is a good way to top-off a weekend. One of my cousins is in the verge of the pick-a-course zone (he'll be in college next school year). As such, the never ending saga to answer this question continues....
(What's the best course out there?)

Krispy Kreme Goodies
***
4. Latest Discovery : Krispy Kreme serves good coffee. And they also have a coffee passport that comes along with your loot. If you're not into donuts, you can score a freebie take-away for your loved ones. How financially rewarding is that? ;) -CMK.

Enjoying a Yogurt (Tutti Edition)

What's your flavor?
1. Choose your flavor.
Location : Tutti Frutti. SM.

Flavor varies per day. Selections that fine day were: Tutti Frutti, Taro, Death by Chocolate, Green Tea and Raspberry among others.
###

You can't go wrong with a Chocolate!
2. Ask Kuya for a Free Taste.
Attendants are nice enough to give you a lil white spoon so you can taste each flavor, if you like. Ahem. Just make sure you'll end up buying to avoid some bloopers. ;) I got to taste the Green Tea but that's too strong. Raspberry turned out to be sorta sour. Final verdict goes to Death by Chocolate and Taro.
###

Swirly-Swirl ;)
3. Swirl it baby.
If only I can fill my whole cup with these goodies. :p The yummy yogurt looks super cute as they land on my paper cup.

Tip: Should you want to taste a 2-flavor combination per set, it's best to swirl on the center part of the machine. Row 2 particularly.

Inversely, if you want a pure flavor, snap away Row 1 or Row 3.

###

5.89 ounce by 20 = Do the Math :p
4. Weight and Pay.
Since it's a yogurt, it's a bit pricey than other cold concoctions. You'll have to put that cup on their scale and multiply what you see by their Sales Price per Ounce.

Tip: Unless your addicted to gummy bears, I suggest you skip the toppings as they cost so much more when weighted. If you can't resist the urge, go for marshmallows and other lighter version of toppin's.

###

Life is like a cup of yogurt...
5. Enjoy till the last drop.
Life is like a cup of yogurt. You have the option to choose what you'll place inside it (♥). You can tell what things will taste like from a little spoon of perspective. When things go crazy, we can just swirl it away and enjoy. But keep in mind that at one point, we are compelled to weight each ounce of our acts.

Ang Babae Sa Septic Tank

Ang Babae sa Septic Tank
Sequence #34 : Payatas. Madumi at mabahong lugar. Exterior. Day. Sa bahay ni Mila.

Sequence #35 : Sa loob ng bahay. Interior. Day. Nagluluto si Mila ng isang pack ng noodles na pagha-hati-hatian ng 7 niang anak.

Sequence #36 : Sa may balon. Exterior. Day. Pinapaliguan ni Mila ang anak niang babae.

Sequence #37 : Naglalakad si Mila. Day. Exterior. Sa condominium ng isang pidopilya. Ibibigay ni Mila ang kanyang anak.

Ssquence #38 : Sa hagdan ng condominium. Day. Interior. Wala sa sarili si Mila. Umiiyak. Natauhan. Manunumbalik na ang kanyang katinuan.
CUT!

Indie Film. Unpredictable Casting. Two-dimensional (Mila's and Direk's). Sequences are repeated over and over again.

Without dialogue / Musical / Full Drama
Nakaka aliw si JM De Guzman, Kean Cipriano, Cai Cortez and of course Eugene Domingo. Asar na asar sila sa mayabang na lalaking nanalo lang minsan sa isang film festival at nakatuntong sa Venice akala mo kung sino na :p Kawawang lalaking pinaliguan nila ng lait at mura. Expresso daw kasi. At may jet lags pa sia.
Honestly, it was my first time to watch an indie (independent) film and having Uge (Eugene Domingo) as the lead role, literally captured my curiosity.

In between Mila and Direk's dimension, lie the real life drama of Bingbong (JM), Rainer (Kean) and Jocelyn (Cai) with of course, Ms. Eugene (Uge). They need to finish this Oscar slash Cannes-worthy masterpiece.
Okay, so where does the Septic Tank scene come to life? Take!

Direk's Dimension.
Day. Exterior.
Ms. Eugene's alalay all over armed with gloves and perfume.
Binuksan ang takip ng Septic Tank.
Nagyoyosi si Ms. Eugene habang nag hahanda ang 'double' stunt woman nia.
CUT.

Daldal ulit si Ms. Eugene. Habang dumadaldal.
Na-out of balance at lumusot sa Septic Tank na oozing with tae (sh*t) :o

HINDISGHT: Mababaw. Malalim. Nakaka-bore. Nakakatawa. Depende siguro sa may mata. I now got to taste what Indie film is. The texture is extra-ordinary. Waching one is definitely a fun way to spend your afternoon with lots of laugh and realization after all. -CMK.

Why One Should Travel More Often?

Let's Go and Travel!
1. Travelling gets you out of your comfort zone.
When you go places, you set foot to the unfamiliar. Suddenly, your toothbrush is not on the same place anymore. You pack your things, unpack them, then pack again. Simple things you often overlook becomes important, specially if you left them at home [think: Contact Lenses]

2. Travelling allows you to meet places and people.
Classic reason. Yet always real. You see how folks get up at morning, do their coffee, get ready for work. It broadens your horizon.

3. Travelling makes you try new things.
You realize that hanging-bridge walking is not as easy when you watch folks doing it on NatGeo Channel. You now know first-handedly what it feels like to jump off with your swimsuit and little orange-lifesaver-jacket. Wearing that... wearing only that!

4. Travelling inspires.
It inspires you to love life (especially if you thought you would've died on your hanging-bridge experience).
It inspires you to work. Either because you love your work or you have to earn again to finance your next trip. It inspires you to get back and live your 'normal' life and plan for the next trip ahead. *wink!

5. Travelling 'forces' you to shut up and contemplate.
Whether by bus or plane. 1-hour or 8-hour travel.
Peeps are compelled to take a seat.
Breathe.
Think.
And sometimes, all we need is just that.
No more. No Less. ;) -CMK

The Moment of Dawn

We are all brothers...

During the world economic forum at Davos, the winner of the Nobel Prize for Peace, Shimon Peres, told the following story:

A Rabbi gathered together his students and asked them:
How do we know the exact moment when night ends and day begins?
'When it's light enough to tell a sheep from a dog,' said one boy
Another student said: No, when it's light enough to tell an olive tree from a fig tree.'

'No, that's not a good definition either'
'Well, what's the right answer?' asked the boys.

And the rabbi said:
WHEN A STRANGER APPROACHES, AND WE THINK HE IS OUR BROTHER, AND ALL CONFLICTS DISAPPEAR, THAT IS THE MOMENT WHEN NIGHT ENDS AND DAY BEGINS.
